The Chronological Resume

This type of resume, as its name suggests, is one that organizes information chronologically, starting with the oldest achievements and reaching the most recent.

The positive point of this type of organization that emphasizes stability and upward mobility in your career. Stresses the promotion, increased duties or increases in the career ladder.

However, it also leaves the naked eye if you had any period of inactivity or if you have suffered frequent changes of workplace. This often requires a lot of explaining or even fill in the gaps with information that is irrelevant to the job that you present yourself.

Therefore, this type is recommended if you have a good experience, have not changed too much work, or have long periods of time in which you have not worked. It is also interesting if you should highlight any known company in which you worked placing reference.

The chronological resume may also occur in reverse order, ie first highlighting the past achievements and the most recent occupation, to go after advancing past experience. Presentation is a less traditional, but increasingly more companies prefer it. The main advantage is that it highlights the most recent experiences are undoubtedly the most interest to those who will hire you.

Advantages of chronological CV

This is the traditional format accepted by most of the departments of selection.

It is easy to read and understand, as it is structured fuertemene.

Describe your duties and accomplishments in the workplace.

Drawbacks of chronological CV:

In contrast, highlights the change of work and lack of promotion or liability changes and downtime.

It also shows the lack of recycling or retraining.

Format of Curriculum Vitae - The functional. Important respects.

This type of CV avoids the disadvantages of the chronological and facilitates exposure of skills and achievements, although the dates of work experience are not continuous, helping to conceal the periods of inactivity or successive similar jobs without promotion. This type of CV is indicated when you want to turn to a professional career and enter an entirely different, in which the type of business and / or studies are not relevant, but if the skills, abilities and forms of work implements the candidate, through his experience.
