Non-Profit Strategic Planning
It 's important to remember that is the size of the organization is more important than profit or nonprofit for the determination of objectives, phases and activities in the process of Strategic Planning. Small non-profit and for-profit organizations have similar ways of doing business and planning that are different from larger non-profit and for-profit organizations.
However, there are some distinctions between the characteristics of non-profit and for-profit organization in relation to the concentration of planning. Unlike-profit organizations, which tend to focus primarily on maximizing the profit of the business, nonprofit organizations are generally more focused on aspects of the management board development, fundraising and volunteering. Thus, non-profit concerns of strategic planning taking into account the interests of the board, its development and welfare of its units. It also aims at focusing on raising funds, while other aspects of planning to take a back seat.
New non-profit organizations must take down the strategic plans on paper and create a formal plan, including any number of considerations a starter non-profit organization needs to take care of.
In the case of old or pre-existing non-profit, strategic planning requires long-term preparation, the map that defines the sequence of activities for several years, where it is today where you want to be in the future.
