What is crisis communication?
In the case in which a setback high profile organizational or emergency occurs, what is known as the communication mode of crisis takes over.
In these crucial moments, at the corporate office communication immediately becomes the face and voice of the organization, especially when dealing with the media.
Corporate communications merges the roles of public relations, advertising and marketing into a single, highly focused campaign.
It is responsible for management talent. A corporate communications consultant to accurately assess each person, with the aim to use their relative strengths, weaknesses and personality traits.
Under the old model in which outside firms were contracted to help the PR or advertising, any organization, no matter how large or influential, it was still just one of many customers, regardless of the circumstances.
Although this approach is fine for the consultant denies the customer - who denies you - the continuity, quality control and the type of responsibility that can only come from a long-standing relationship.
These methods have been always and expensive and time consuming. It also limits the marketing to sales or fundraising, communications and tends to put in a box and to exclude from the overall policy mix for a client.
The new model for any corporate communication strategy must take a strategic and targeted approach. Ideally, the consultant will set up an in-house Communications Office which acts as an on-call connection for all other departments of the organization.
The consultant will support the various departments in writing, editing, public speaking, speech writing and provide assistance to existing publications and websites. The communications consultant will provide a single message is signaled to the interested public and the media.
In a crisis situation, the only successful strategy is the communication consultant to bring any bad news to the media, in the first place. The worst possible location is the organization that you are reacting to bad news that is generated by the media.
