Depression in the elderly - also can live a full and happy life
Depression in the elderly is very common and is mainly due to the circumstances of the life of the elderly, the children became adults and made their lives and often do not remember parents and when they do it every once in a while . Sometimes they are widowed and must face life all alone.
When you suffer from a disease that requires regular doctor visits and the purchase of medicines which are often expensive, it also depresses the elderly, especially if not handled enough money to buy.
Loneliness, lack of affection, lack of money are factors that cause depression in the elderly, at the beginning it may appear that the person is sad, with a blue mood, the old man loses his appetite, want to eat anything and is losing pounds and getting thinner, which leads to a worse mood as insomnia, memory loss and great anxiety, which often can be confused with dementia also affects the life of old
Often thought that depression is natural in the life of an older, family members say, if you have nothing to do, if you spend all day alone, is that he loves being the center of attention, does not like working with us and always complaining though it has nothing.
This lack of care of the elderly leads to try to hide what he feels, is not able to talk about their emotional problems, sadness and hopelessness, if you lead a doctor only encouraged to talk about physical problems and any problems are generally silent emotional need. However, if the depression in the elderly is not diagnosed and treated, it causes unnecessary suffering in the elderly.
