Abuse of Power

At the dawn of this new century we are witnessing awareness of certain realities that, despite having existed since man is man, he had kept hidden, silenced and almost always looks away from the social and judicial. I'm thinking of two great scourges: the mistreatment of women and children who suffer, but especially in relation to the latter, the sexual abuse they are subjected, a reality that affects us all and that hides the real root of the problem: abuse of power. I am of the opinion that the value acquired as people should be based on continuous self-improvement work staff. I think that's the right way. Other attitudes, on the contrary, what they seek is to be better than others, show that you are above this or the other, an attitude in my opinion was wrong and, at worst, though, leads directly to what this article proposes, the abuse of power. The abuse of power, although one can speak of many scales, is based on the inability to see satisfied self-esteem by merit.

Would become something like "because I can not be better than others, others have to be worse than me?. So here than it is to humiliate, criticize and to subject those who are left. And who are the most vulnerable? Children, of course.

We tend to think that child sexual abuse, but perverse, it is a sexual act, that the motivation is purely sexual aggressor. And the truth is that it is not. It is obvious that there is a sexual component, but in most cases is not the principal, saving, yes, the cases where the offender is a pedophile, which is already the way, should note that it is a small percentage of all abuse child sexual being produced. For instance, 60% of the abuses taking place in the child's home environment. That's the real problem. While it is possible that within this 60% may be some pedophile, it is true that the vast majority are occasional offenders that nobody holds the slightest suspicion. Finally we conclude that concerns us and concerns, we should reflect on our part and to all solutions. When a man abuses a woman or abused or sexually abuses a child should understand that it is an abuse of power, and anyone who is poorly informed about these issues know how terrible the consequences.

It should be noted that the woman may also incur the same behaviors, but the percentage is much lower, especially in regard to sexual abuse. What solutions do we implement? Probably would not hurt to increase prison sentences ensure better protection for victims and create more and better resources for both women and for children. Of course it is essential to do so today. But I advocate attacking the root of the problem. Until invest efforts to find solutions to prevent these events occur, we will be moving in the right way. Okay, for instance, every time we build safer roads, but if we fail to convince the driver not to go to 230 km. per hour, the problem will never disappear completely. Accurate information is one of the most useful tools to raise awareness. But if that information is not incorporated then little advanced education. The cure is necessary and not be repaired cost to generate the necessary resources, but prevention, based on information and education, is what will allow us to have in the future a more healthy, more caring and happier .
